1. Eleanor Burns at Quilt Market 2018

I just got back from Quilt Market  where I got to talk briefly with quilting legend Eleanor Burns . She was signing her new book Forty Fabulous Years celebrating her forty years in the quilting business and I was lucky enough to be nearby to get in line.  Eleanor is just as full of life as ever and I don't see her stopping any time soon. I realized later that I should have had my picture taken…Read More

  2. Quilt Market 2018

I just got back from Quilt Market and didn't take a single picture to share with you.  It is a working Market, albeit a fun one. But we stayed very busy and there wasn't much time to casually walk through the long rows of vendor booths. We had appointments to meet with about five different fabric vendors on Saturday. I also met with the people who make the wonderful emery boards that I give to cu…Read More

  3. Quilt Market

In spite of how it may appear in the picture, I really had a productive quilt market. The vendors go out of their way to decorate their booths and make it fun for the Market attendees and it's great to go just to witness their creativity. I met with several fabric vendors and ordered over 30 bolts of fabric. One of the vendors is a new one for me, so I'm looking forward to adding to my fabric choi…Read More

  4. To Market, To Market

I love this time of year. Not only did we have a beautiful fall day without a cloud in the sky, but I'm in major anticipation mode for the Houston International Quilt Market. Three of my fellow quilting business owners and I rent a room at the Hilton Americas next to the convention center and immerse ourselves in the quilt world. At Market, we get to see the new lines of fabric coming out as well …Read More

  5. Quilt Market 2015

As promised, here are pictures from Quilt Market. As I said, it is a huge show and there is a lot of ground to cover. The picture on the left only shows about a third of the Market area. I enjoyed meeting with the vendors and picking out new fabrics to use in my T-shirt quilts. And I got to see a lot of new quilting products. It always amazes me to see the new ideas and inventions to make quilting…Read More

  6. Tributes and Treasures

Quilt Market was exciting for several reasons, but one of the best ones was the release of Red Crinoline Quilt’s new book Tributes and Treasures. Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison are the authors, designers and makers of the quilts in the book, but I was privileged to have quilted several of the quilts including the one on the cover. I started quilting for Paula and Mary Ellen before they star…Read More
