Signature Quilts for Brides and Babies
Not only is it time to plan for graduations, but this is the time of year that wedding showers are being scheduled for June brides. A fun idea for bridal showers, as well as baby showers, is to have guests sign quilt blocks and then have them made into a quilt. The blocks can also be signed at the wedding. One bride chose fabrics that matched her wedding colors and had me piece the quilt blocks in advance. Once they were signed, she brought them back to me to be made into a quilt. I can provide the already pieced fabric squares or just plain fabric squares for you to use along with the permanent fabric marking pens. I will even provide a sign for you to use for instructions on signing the quilt block. If you would like to cut your own squares, use a nice light colored 100% cotton quilting fabric and cut the squares accurately with a rotary cutter and ruler. To make them more stable for signing, iron a piece of freezer paper shiny side down to the back of your fabric. Of course, it would be much easier for you to have me do all that for you.
