When we went to visit my niece in Longview, Texas, on Easter weekend, I finally had an opportunity to visit Stitchin’ Heaven, which is a well-known quilt shop in Mineola, Texas. They had a very fun booth at the Houston International Quilt Festival this past year and I’ve been wanting to visit the shop long before that. Unfortunately, my time was limited since I was supposed to be celebrating Easter with family, but my sisters and my mother went with me, so I figure that counts. The staff at Stitchin’ Heaven is very friendly and greeted us at the door with a brochure and then took us around to show us the different areas of the shop. It is a large shop with an equally large selection of quilting fabric, pre-cuts, notions, patterns and books. They also sponsor quilt cruises and motorcoach trips and they have a retreat facility as well. And they have an almost life-sized longhorn named Gus, so I had to get my picture with him.  They even offer complimentary beverages including wine! So if you ever get a chance, stop in and plan to stay a while. You’ll be glad you visited this quilter’s paradise.
