1. Quilting Sisters

I just got back from my annual Sister Trip with my two sisters. We stayed in a hotel suite so we would have room to set up our sewing machines and have a mini-retreat. We went to Austin and visited seven different quilt shops. We always saved doggie bags from our lunches to eat for supper in our hotel room. So after we got back from our shopping sprees, we would put on our pajamas and get busy sew…Read More

  2. More Charis House Quilts

While at retreat a couple of weeks ago, I pieced a couple more quilts for Charis House so I could get them quilted on my longarm to take to Pensacola last week. My friend Betty also pieced a quilt for them. I was able to get all three quilted to take to my sister for her to bind before presenting them to the ladies at Charis House. They are so appreciative of the quilts and it is a joy to make the…Read More

  3. Quilt Shopping in Pajamas

I talked in my last post about our bee retreat at "And Sew It Began-Pieceful Stitches" and mentioned how much fun it was shopping in our pajamas. So I thought I would add a couple of photos. The face has been hidden to protect the innocent! I wanted you to see more of the quilt shop as well. It really is well stocked and beautifully displayed.  And, as you can see, there is a very nice selection …Read More

  4. A New Retreat House

I just got back from the most wonderful retreat with my Sew Bee It quilting bee. It was our first stay at "And Sew It Began-Pieceful Stitches"  in LaPorte, Texas, and it is a fabulous place to retreat. Ronda Stockton, the owner, could host her own remodeling and decorating TV show. The house is a beautifully refurbished 1913 Sears kit house that will sleep 16. There are quilts and special touche…Read More

  5. More Massachusetts Quilt Shops

Another quilt shop that is definitely worth seeing is The Meeting House in Wales, Massachusetts. It is also in an old church and the fabric selection is huge. The shop had the largest selection of traditional quilting fabric that I have ever seen in a quilt shop and they were having an anniversary sale of 30% off.  So it gave me the opportunity to collect all of the fabrics I had been "needing" f…Read More

  6. Quilt Shop Hopping in Massachusetts

As mentioned in my previous blog, my quilt bee made a trip to Massachusetts to spend a few days with our bee member who had moved there about ten years ago. Our hostess Terri and her wonderfully welcoming husband live on a private lake and we enjoyed the beautiful view all week and got to take a boat ride on the lake one evening. But we spent our days shop hopping. Massachusetts is a beautiful sta…Read More
