1. Quilt Market 2018

I just got back from Quilt Market and didn't take a single picture to share with you.  It is a working Market, albeit a fun one. But we stayed very busy and there wasn't much time to casually walk through the long rows of vendor booths. We had appointments to meet with about five different fabric vendors on Saturday. I also met with the people who make the wonderful emery boards that I give to cu…Read More

  2. Quilting with My Sisters

I seem to be on a family theme the last few blog posts, and yet, I have one more. My sisters and I take a "Sister Trip" every year and last weekend we went to Dallas for the Dallas Quilt Guild Quilt Show.  They apparently have a big active membership because their show is the biggest guild show that I have ever attended. And they have it every year in early March. My own guild as well as several …Read More

  3. Still Recuperating from Harvey

I guess this is the beginning of week three since Hurricane Harvey flooded our home. It has all gone by in a fog. Thankfully, our adjuster came and we can now begin closing up the walls and getting things back in order. I'm having two new cabinets built for my studio because my other ones were made of "manufactured wood" and didn't withstand the water. It's really hard to get back in the groove, b…Read More

  4. Quilt Show Time

It's almost time for the West Houston Quilter's Guild Quilt Show, so come on out and see our quilts. I've entered four this year as well as donating a quilt for the silent auction. We will also have vendors, so plan to make a day of it. Paula Barnes of Red Crinoline Quilts is our featured quilter this year and some of her quilts will be on display, perhaps even some that I have quilted for her. Th…Read More

  5. Traditional Custom Quilts

Although making T-shirt quilts makes up the bulk of our business, we also enjoy making traditional quilts for our customers.  We can make one to your size and color specifications and I love the opportunity to do a special quilt.  The quilt pictured is a king-sized quilt that was a custom order from good friends of mine.  Their bedroom is a somewhat dark green color and they wanted something to…Read More

  6. Tributes and Treasures

Quilt Market was exciting for several reasons, but one of the best ones was the release of Red Crinoline Quilt’s new book Tributes and Treasures. Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison are the authors, designers and makers of the quilts in the book, but I was privileged to have quilted several of the quilts including the one on the cover. I started quilting for Paula and Mary Ellen before they star…Read More
