I’m always looking for fresh new ideas for T-shirt quilts and sometimes the inspiration comes from a customer.  I recently made this T-shirt quilt for a customer who wanted something a little different.  She brought a picture of a friend’s quilt to show me what she wanted.  I found border fabric online and then ordered a couple of “jelly rolls” to go with the border fabric.  Jelly rolls are pre-cut 2 1/2″ strips of coordinating fabric and are sold in quilt shops.  Jelly rolls and other pre-cuts have become very popular with quilters because they eliminate cutting time.  I used different strips of the fabric to go around each T-shirt and then pieced the T-shirts into rows.  I was very pleased with the outcome and will offer this as an option for customers who want to be a little more adventuresome with their fabric choices.  These quilts will be offered at $25 per square because I have to special order the border fabric and jelly rolls and it also makes a bigger quilt than my other options.
