While we use quality fabric, batting, and thread to craft each quilt, the majority of space on your quilt is created using your sent t-shirts, which may be older and less durable than they used to be. Keep your quilt looking great by treating it with care and using it as a blanket, display piece, or bedding. 

Spot Clean or Gentle Wash

Depending on the types of shirts that are used in your quilt, you may not be able to wash your quilt in the washer. If you’re unsure, reach out to us directly to discuss your particular quilt! Otherwise, spot cleaning with a gentle detergent or using the gentle/delicate cycle on your washing machine will keep your quilt looking brand-new.

Environmental Factors

If your t-shirt quilt is going to be more of a display piece than a blanket or part of your everyday bedding, keep in mind environmental factors that can damage your quilt. Direct sunshine can fade the colors of your fabric over time, so display your quilt where it won’t be in the sun for extended periods. Additionally, dust, mildew, or even pests can degrade your quilt over time, so be sure to dust off your quilt, make sure it doesn’t stay wet or damp for long periods, and keep an eye out for moths or mites.
