Round Robin and Other Retreat Quilts

At our recent retreat, our bee members presented our “elder stateswoman” with a Round Robin quilt. Shirley had given us the center medallion a couple of months ago and asked us to complete it for her. Each of us took a turn at adding pieced borders to the quilt and she did not see it until it was completed. Shirley was absolutely thrilled with the result and we were pretty pleased with ourselves, especially when the retreat owner asked if there was a pattern available.

While at retreat, I pieced a quilt for Camp Hope, a quilt for Charis House and a nursing home quilt to be given through the West Houston Quilter’s Guild. I also finished piecing one of my own quilt tops and started working on one for a wedding gift for my niece. Pictures of that one will follow in a couple of months. The large quilt in the picture at right is for Charis House and the other two quilts in the photo were pieced by bee member Mary.

Take a look at our Gallery to see examples of the T-Shirt Quilts as well as few of the many other quilts we have made.

I started making quilts as a child and have been quilting for others for over twenty years. Quilts that I have quilted have been featured in several quilting books and magazines.
